Ellis Brook Reserve, located just east of Perth is where I was finally able to find a family of the incredible Bright Red Red Eared Firetails. From a distance you wouldn't recognise the unique markings on its side, white spots admidst the black feathers. They forage accross the forrest floor as a group, and as this one perched momentarly on a low hanging branch I snapped a shot. Framed by the unique leaves of this native plant.
 
'Red Eared Firetail' is signed on the right hand side of the canvas. The sides are painted as a wrap around, continuing on from the painting.
